For all of the segments we have done on craft books?the kind you are more likely to find in your book store than the craft store?we have never done a segment showing some of the currently available craft booklets. In the trade I guess they are all referred to as books, but I separate them in my mind by the fact that most "booklets" are smaller in the number of pages, less expensive, and most frequently held together with staples. There are a number of exceptions and some are beginning to crossover, but basically those are the differences.

Though any craft store will have some of these booklets available, many folks are unaware of just how many of these are out there as well as how many different crafts they cover. There are so many, in fact, that no one craft store, even the big ones, can keep all of them in stock; but they are often available from the publisher even if they are no longer on the shelves.

The booklets we showed and described on the show today are all listed below, and in every case, the title usually gives you a good idea of what’s inside. The booklets all have fine photographs of the projects included, along with illustrations of the steps involved and, in many cases, patterns are also included. The directions are sometimes not as detailed as you might be used to, but if you will look thru several books by the same publisher, you will be able to determine if they will fit your needs. Their continued success suggests that they are very crafter-friendly.

If you want to find out more about a craft that you just MIGHT be interested in pursuing...or if you just can’t get enough about the craft that you are already involved with...checking through the booklets in your craft store might be very helpful. And the books often list other books still available from the publisher even if your craft store does not have them in stock.

Following is a list of all of the booklets mentioned on the program.
