    Steps:

    1. Scrunch-dye silk scarf by painting it with diluted Dye-Na-Flow (figure A). Once wet, gather it to dry while scrunched up (figure B). Let scarf sit in sun or overnight until totally dry. Don't be tempted to open it before it's dry.

    2. Open scarf and iron (figure C).

    3. For additional texture and depth, sponge and spray more fabric paint on scrunched surface. Let paint dry and press.

    4. Pin scarf to ironing board, anchoring with T-pins.

    5. To make eraser stamps: Draw horizontal or vertical lines on eraser with permanent black marker (figure D). Cut lines carefully with a craft knife (figure E). Carve all five erasers using the same technique. Glue erasers to plexiglas, lucite or wood surface to create stamps.

    6. Apply metallic paint to stamp and stamp on silk in a random pattern (figure F).

    7. Paint zigzags, arrows, spirals, squiggles and other primitive marks in between stamped designs (figure G).

    8. Stamp other images between the above designs.

    9. Use a small round brush to add accents and details like small dots and lines to stamped and hand-painted images. Use a 1/4- or 1/2-inch flat brush for line painting (figure H).

    10. Heat set by tossing in a commercial dryer on high for 35 to 45 minutes or ironing on the reverse side.

    11. Embellish with beaded tassels (figure I).
