1. First cut a piece of tulle large enough to drape over the entire table. You can use the existing tablecloth as a guide, or make the tulle smaller if you like .
2. Glue or stitch flowers or single petals scattered over the tulle so that they look suspended on it (figure A).
3. Make large bows using various colors, widths and types of ribbon using the same procedure in the previous segment. You'll need one of these bows for each spot where the swag is attached to the table. Make sure you leave long streamers of ribbon to hang below the bows. You can add silk or fresh strands of ivy here if you like (figure B).
4. Gather tulle in a contrasting color or white into long drapes and wrap with wire every 12 to 24 inches. Drap the tulle swags around the table and pin them in place with corsage pins or safety pins, as seen in figure C.
5. Embellish the bows using fresh, dried or silk flowers and foliage, pearls or other floral accents. Glue or wire the accents to the bows and then pin or wire the embellished bows to the swags and tablecloth (figure D).
