Host Carol Duvall converts fiberglass screening into large silver bows to adorn the home during the holidays. Although this type of screening does not hold gold spray paint as well as metal screening might, its silvery color is festive, it's more flexible and, therefore, easier to work with. As a precaution, Carol recommends wearing gloves to avoid cutting yourself when working with metal screening.
Materials: fiberglass screening wire or staples gloves Steps: 1. Lay out a sheet of fiberglass screening about 8 feet long on a solid surface. 2. Fold the ends in toward the middle of the screening and gather it in the middle. 3. Fold another piece of screening, about 12" wide, in half lengthwise and wrap this piece around the area where you gathered the long piece. Hold it in place with wire or staples. 4. If you use metal screening, you may decide to spray the entire bow with silver or gold paint.
