  • Pulp To Paper
  • From "Carol Duvall Show"
    episode CDS-162
    advertisement

At the Art Methods & Materials Show in Chicago, Carol's producers found Arnold Grummer demonstrating how to easily make attractive handmade paper using recycled materials and his papermaking kits. With the kit, the steps are simple:

    1. Put bits of used paper into a blender and add enough water to just cover the paper.
    2. Blend the mixture to a pulp.
    3. Pour the pulp into two separate containers, and add water to each.
    4. Pour contents of containers into paper mold.
    5. Spread the mixture on screen and use a sponge to remove excess water.
    6. Turn screen upside-down onto a blotter and press again with a sponge.
    7. Press the paper with a warm iron, being sure to move the iron slowly so that the particles remain fused together.
