    Steps:

    1. Cut a three-inch wide strip of decorative paper and place it face down. In the center of the strip, measure two times the width of the sticky note pad spine (figure A). Draw two vertical lines that width apart to indicate the spine of the note pad.

    2. Put a thin layer of glue onto the back side of the strip of paper. Cut two pieces of chip board slightly larger than the size of the sticky note pad. Glue them to either side of the vertical lines (figure B). Trim and fold the edges to the insides of the chip board and spine area (figure C). Cover the blank area of the spine with paper (figure D).

    3. Turn the unit over and apply glue to the front and back covers, letting a small amount of glue overlap onto the paper. Place decorative paper onto the front and back covers. Miter the corners of the paper (figure E) and fold the edges to the inside of the chip board (figure F).

    4. Cut a 2" x 1-1/2" strip of paper and fold it vertically into thirds (figure G) so that the two outside sections overlap. Wrap the center of the folded strip around a pencil to form a loop (figure H). Glue the strip onto the left bottom edge of the inside front cover with the loop facing outward (figure I).

    5. Cut another strip and fold and shape it as in step 4. Glue it onto the right upper edge of the inside back cover with the loop facing outward so that when the book is closed, the two loops line up.

    6. Cut pieces of chip board slightly smaller than the front and back covers of the book. Cover them with decorative paper and glue them to the insides of the covers (figure J).

    7. Attach the sticky note pad to the inside front cover using double-sided tape (figure K).

    8. Close the book and insert a pencil through both loops to hold the book closed.
