Steps: 1. Apply two coats of French yellow base coat (figure A). Let the first coat dry for two hours before applying the second coat.
2. Pounce burnt sienna glaze over entire surface of the book box (figure B).
3. Randomly dab cheesecloth over the surface of the box to soften and add texture to the glaze (figure C).
4. Crumple a plastic bag and press it onto the glaze to create a crackled look (figure D). Let dry overnight and apply two coats of varnish. 5. Paint pages of the book with gold paint (figure E).
