Project designed by Chris Gluck. Materials: pencils craft sticks various gauges of wire miniature wooden shapes scissors or nail clippers needle nose pliers Steps: 1. Drill holes in the wooden shapes then attach one at either end of a slightly-bent piece of wire (figure A). Pick a balance point from which the wire will hang and bend a small notch in the wire at that point. 2. Attach a wooden shape to one end of another piece of wire and shape the other end to form a loop. Slip the loop around the other piece of wire so that the looped wire hangs at the notch in a perpendicular manner (figure B). Continue bending notches and adding more wire pieces embellished with wooden shapes. 3. Secure a thick piece of wire from the point at which the mobile will hang. Hang a slightly-curved piece of wire at the end of the original piece of wire. Make loops at both ends of this piece of wire. Hang the pieces of wire embellished with wood shapes from the loops. 4. Make spirals by wrapping thin pieces of wire around pencils or craft sticks. Embellish the mobile with the spirals.
