    Project designed by Jane Beard.

Try this easy decoration for Halloween. Stamp and cut colored paper to make decorative covers for strands of twinkle lights. Finished lights can be hung up or incorporated into centerpieces.

    Materials:

    medium-weight colored paper
    vellum
    small light set
    raffia
Museum of Modern Rubber stamps - K-694 Large Pumpkinhead, L-800 Pot
tools - hobby knife, decorative-edge scissors, scissors, small diameter hole punch
    glue
    black stamp pad
    optional: permanent markers

    Steps:

    1. Stamp colored cardstock; make two images for each light cover. Color outside of image area with contrasting colored marker.
    2. Cut out shapes, leaving approximately 1/2 inch extra around the outside edge. Cut out facial feature on Pumpkinhead and Pot top.
    3. Trim vellum slightly smaller than stamped image. Color vellum with permanent markers if desired.
    4. Glue two pieces back-to-back around the outside edge, leaving one end open. To hang lights, leave the opening in the top of the image. For standing lights, leave the opening in the bottom of the image. Once the glue has dried, trim the outer edge using decorative-edge scissors if desired.
