  • Toy Surprise Soap

    Materials:

    four to six ounces of clear glycerin soap base
    plastic toy
    mold deep enough to hold toy
    Slicker Yellow gel-tone soap colorant
    Banana Skin Scentials fragrance
    microwaveable bowl or double boiler
    spoon or stirring stick

    Steps:

    1. Melt the soap in microwave or double boiler (figure A).

    2. Pour a small amount of clear, unscented soap into a mold approximately 1/8 inch deep (figure B).

    3. Once the soap in the mold has hardened to the touch, place toy face down in the mold (figure C).

    4. Spritz the hardened soap and toy with rubbing alcohol.

    5. Pour more clear, unscented soap around the toy, just enough to set it in (figure D).

    6. Color the remaining soap with gel soap colorant and scent with one teaspoon of fragrance (figure E).

    7. Test the clear soap in the mold. Once the soap is warm but hard to the touch, pour the colored soap over it, filling the mold to the top.

    8. Allow the soap to cool in the mold. Turn soap upside down and pop out (figure F). The soap is ready to use right away.

    Caution: Small toys are a choking hazard for younger children. Do not allow children to use this soap without proper adult supervision.
