    If you are ever driving down Route 57 outside Grand Rapids, Mich., you will more than likely find a unique 1950s' style diner. But beware--behind the counter you'll not only find great tasting food, but an artist by the name of Jerry Berta.

    Berta is famous for his ceramic diners and food art. He incorporates bright colors, neon lights and chrome glazes to make each piece special. Jerry's wife, Madeline Kaczmarczyk, also displays her art at the diner. She is known for her colorful teapots and vases. Madeline used to make the teapots functional, but customers seemed more interested in looking at them rather than buying them. That's okay with her because it allowed her unique creativity to come alive.
