Materials: NuBuck purse one skein each: dune, onyx ribbon & diamonds or can can pair #8 needles (or size to obtain gauge) Aleene's Tacky Glue 1" brush "T" pins Steps: (Gauge is 5 sts and 7 rows = 1 inch) 1. With # 8 needles and dune yarn, cast on 47 sts and work seed st (K1, *P1, k1*, repeat from * to * across row) for 8 rows. 2. Change to onyx ribbon and work reverse stockinette stitch for 4 rows. ( Row 1: Purl - Row 2: Knit - Row 3: Purl -Row 4: Knit) (figure A). 3. Change to diamonds (or can can) and garter st (knit every row) for 4 rows (figure B). 4. Repeat these three sections three times. Then work 8 rows seed st with dune and bind off 47 sts. Weave in all ends (figure C). 5. Smear glue on surface of purse using the brush. Carefully spread a generous amount of glue along top of purse, down sides and bottom edge. Then brush the glue evenly across surface (figure D). 6. Take knitted piece and firmly press work to top of bag and secure across top with "T" pins (figure E). 7. Press work to one side edge of bag and repeat with the other side, using "T" pins to secure in place. 8. Firmly press bottom edge of knitting to bottom of bag and again use "T" pins to secure (figure F). 9. Press rest of knitting smoothly across bag and leave it for an hour. Gently remove pins. Wear and enjoy your purse!
