Project by Donna Kato. Materials: Kato Polyclay: gold & violet half-circle paper pattern small round cutters Kato Nublade cornstarch and brush ribbon pasta machine for clay Steps: 1. Create a sheet of violet and a sheet of gold clay; trim to triangles. Place triangle bases together and trim edges (figure A). 2. Fold (figure B) and pass through pasta machine several times to create skinner-blend clay sheet (figure C). 3. Continue until you have a sheet of clay large enough to cut out the half-circle pattern (figure D). 4. Wrap the paper pattern into a cone shape and tape to secure (figure E). Use this as your draping form. 5. Dust the draping form with cornstarch and drape clay around the form. Trim edges and smooth at seam (figure F). 6. Punch hanging holes and decorative holes in clay using circle cutters (figure G). 7. Bake to cure at 275 F degrees for 45 minutes. Remove clay from form. Tie ribbon through holes. Fill with candy or other goodies.
