Check out these necklaces: one uses a variety of yarns that are twisted, then embellished with tassels and beads. The next is a series of crocheted circles made from sparkly gold yarn — from a distance, it looks almost like the real thing. The third piece is also crocheted, this one with picot flourishes, finished with a flower filigree.
