A.k.a. is a group made up of three women, all trained architects and designers, who like to combine traditional needlework with uncommon canvases. Andrea starts off with a toy chest by combining traditional blackwork and cross-stitch on the front of a plastic drawer; she then makes an out-of-this-world lampshade design as she plays with both scale and the combination of a hard surface and a soft fiber. Lucy shows how to embroider paper while she adds fiber to a photo she has taken; and Andrea finishes off the show with a project the whole family can enjoy: needlepoint on pegboard.
