Janay Hines, a major do-it-yourselfer, purchased a hundred-year-old three-story brick row-house in the historic LeDroit Park neighborhood of the District of Columbia. So far the kitchen was remodeled, new wood floors were put in and Janay discovered a tiger-oak fireplace mantel that she stripped herself over the course of entire summer. And one more thing . . . She discovered cavities for pocket-doors off the entry hall leading into the parlor. Her desire is to restore the pocket doors and bring them back into operation.
