Don't risk an injury. Make sure the blade guard and antikick device are in working order before you use the saw. When you're ready to begin, adjust the blade to the proper height for the wood you're cutting. You should be able to see three teeth above the wood (figure A ) when you place it next to the blade. Plug in the saw, turn it on, and make your cut. Push the wood all the way past the blade. Use a stick to help guide the wood when there isn't much space between the blade and the fence (figure B). To make a miter cut, set the miter accessory in its track, and adjust it to the appropriate angle. Hold the wood tightly against the miter, and slide the miter along its track until the cut is complete (figure C).
