Leftover bits of wrapping paper inspired this star bookmark. The stars are cut out on the front to allow small salvaged photos peek through and are left solid on the back.

Make a little something out of almost nothing. Transform leftover project scraps into one-of-a-kind bookmarks. We used small photos and rubber-stamped, fold-dyed and cut-paper scraps.

Don't toss paper scraps or unused photos and memorabilia left over from your scrapbooking projects. Use them to make unique bookmarks and scrapbook markers.

    • Small Photos

Salvage the good parts of damaged or unsuitable photos for use on bookmarks. Combine the photos with scraps of decorative paper or cardstock.

    • Photo Booth Pix

A photo booth picture strip is a ready-made bookmark. Mount the strip on cardstock or glue two photo strips together back to back to make a reversible bookmark. If desired, laminate the photo strip or protect it with transparent self-adhesive film.

    • Photo Extras

Some photos just don't make it into the album but are too cute to discard. Trim two or three of them to a width of about three inches and mount on cardstock to use as a place marker for a large photo album or scrapbook.

    • Postcards

Make travel postcards into bookmarks for a travel journals or guidebooks.

    • Kids' Artwork

Personalized bookmarks are fun to make and to receive. Give kids bookmark-sized strips of cardstock to decorate with markers. Add a small photo of the child and then laminate.

    • Scraps

Almost any pretty piece of leftover paper can be made into a bookmark or scrapbook maker. Use scraps of rubber-stamped, pattern-cut, or fold-dyed paper and combine with cardstock and small photos.
