A photo collage is a great way to create a unified composition while using many photos on one page. Here, Becky Higgins shares her technique. - Look for things that can be eliminated from a picture. For example, a large expanse of sky above a group of people can often be cropped away to create new focus. In addition, background scenery or objects are often unnecessary and can be cropped away.
- Trim away any white photo borders that take up space.
- Keep in mind that each photo in a collage will have it's own unique shape and size.
- Arrange photos before affixing to mats or scrapbook pages.
- Consider creating a collage of small headshots of everyone in a family.
- Don't forget to leave room for journaling and titles -- but don't include too many embellishments. A classic, simple page allows the collage to stand out and be the focal point.
