    Figure B

DIY Scrapbooking host Sandi Genovese shares an interactive idea for adding journaling, photographs and souvenirs to a scrapbook page -- an envelope pocket.

Note: Featured envelope template not available at this time. Look for the Ellison envelope die-cut at your local scrapbooking or crafts store.

    Materials:

    Ellison envelope die-cut
    Decorative stickers
    Memory pen
    1 sheet 11" x 11" patterned background paper
    2 sheets 12" x 12" solid paper
    Acid-free adhesive or double-sided tape
    Small adhesive foam dots

    1. Mat patterned paper on a sheet of solid paper to create background. Mat photo on solid colored paper and adhere to upper half of page, in the center.

    2. Cut two paper strips from the solid paper, cutting ends to resemble ribbon. Attach on strip on each side of the matted photo.

    3. Next, remove stickers and attach foam dots to the back to create dimension (figure A). Top each one of the paper ribbons with a sticker.

    4. Die-cut the envelopes, fold on the creases, and use an acid-free adhesive or tape to seal the bottom flap. Adhere envelopes to the ribbon strips, two on each strip (figure B).

    5. Add additional embellishments as desired, then add small photos, journal cards or stickers to the envelopes.
Tip: The semi-transparent appearance of vellum -- through which a photo or writing can be seen -- is also a good choice for envelope accents.
