See Jill Miller's technique for creating folded frames by watching this short video.

Designer Jill Miller creates folded frames from a few cuts and folds.

    Materials:

    Rust 12" x 12" cardstock
    Craft knife or paper trimmer
    Magnolia stamp
    Foam tape or foam dots
Pearl Ex powdered paints (gold, copper and verdigris)
    Gold mulberry paper
    Thin gold cord
    Ivory cardstock
    Versamark ink pad
    Make-up applicator or cotton swab

    1. To create the featured "curtain fold," cut a capital I in the center of rust paper (no greater than 7") down center. Cut center cut slightly across the top and bottom cuts.

    2. Next, fold back each flap 1", then reverse and accordion fold 1/2". Reverse and fold remainder of flap on top of itself (figure A). Secure with foam tape or dots under the middle crease.

    3. Then, thread gold cording top to bottom under the middle crease. Tie the cord "gift wrap style" crossing the cord in center and wrapping horizontally around the folded strip (figure B). Secure cording behind the paper.

    4. After securing cord, mount curtain folded paper to gold mulberry paper.

    5. Use Versamark ink to ink the magnolia stamp. Stamp image on ivory cardstock and cut image away from paper. Repeat 2 more times.

    6. Brush Pearl Ex powdered paints over the Versamark image, then cut out image and mount to curtain folds.

    7. Brush Versamark ink on all sides of ivory cardstock mat, then brush with Pearl Ex.

    8. Mount photo, mat and stamped flower images to page. Journal near edges if desired.
