One way to mark your college years on a scrapbook page is by using college transcripts or grade reports. Often these documents go overlooked and linger unused in a drawer or box. Here, designer Gaye Sgamboti shares a page design that earns high marks for uniqueness!

    Materials:

Cardstock in tan, plum, pumpkin, white or beige, and berry
Small scraps of cardstock in various shades
    Eyelets
    Jute
    Adhesive foam dots
    Lettering template
    Brown marker
    Craft knife or scissors
    Journaling pen (if desired)
    Acid-free adhesive

    1. Begin the page by printing "the grade" onto white or beige cardstock, then tear the bottom edge to create a title block. (Be sure to leave room above the words for letters cut in step 2.)

    2. Next, cut "Making" from the pumpkin cardstock and mount on the title block just above the printed letters. Add the appearance of stitching to the pumpkin-colored letters using a brown marker.

    3. Use eyelets to attach the title block to the scrapbook page, and tie jute through the holes for added texture and detail (figure A)

    4. Add additional elements as desired. Here, Sgamboti added a small calendar, report and book titles (figure B) that were printed on the computer and embellished with chalks and scraps of cardstock.

    5. Next, use adhesive foam dots to adhere embellishments and add dimension to the page.

    6. Then, trim 1" from sides of plum cardstock to create pocket. Apply adhesive along bottom edge and sides of pocket and adhere to page.

    7. Add eyelets to pocket corners, and again, tie jute through the eyelet holes.

    8. Finally, add the grade report and other collegiate documents to the pocket.
