Designer Jennifer Zerillo offers tips for creating year-round gift albums. Party Gift Albums - When giving albums as gifts, remember to include photos of the host and hostess. In the Halloween gift album, Zerillo includes the photos on the first page.
- Go with the recipient's interests. For example: the host and hostess of the Halloween party are enthusiastic about their Halloween decorations, so Zerillo included both a variety and quantity featuring the fun decor.
Getting Started Gift Albums - Zerillo's "getting started" album was started on her mother's 60th birthday. When she turned 61, Zerillo gave the album to her as a gift. Zerillo left plenty of space for her mother to personalize the album with journaling -- to document the birthday celebration captured in the photographs, as well as future events.
- One side of each spread can be left blank -- or minimally decorated. This type of album serves as an introduction to scrapbooking as well as a gift, and the recipient can learn and create by copying the design on the opposite page.
- Use quotes appropriate to the occasion to add a meaningful tribute to the pages.
Party Album Tip: Including information about the party creates a wonderful reference for recurring events, and is yet another way to capture the spirit of the party.
