Layering embossed and patterned paper gives a feeling of textural and visual continuity over the entire page. Watch this short video to see Pamela Lange's technique.

The teddy bear -- the quintessential nursery icon -- is featured on this page created by designer Pamela Lange.

    Materials:

Hand-tinted copy or enlargement of baby photo
    Teddy bear patterned paper
Teddy bear embossed vellum (two shades)
    Scissors
    Small alphabet stickers
    Teddy bear sticker
Foam mounting tape, squares or dots
    Coordinating border stickers
Acid-free glue stick or clear adhesive

    1. First, cut a piece of vellum so that embossed bear pattern aligns with the pattern on the background paper (figure A). Layer a second sheet of embossed vellum over the first, carefully cutting and aligning with the embossed bears on the first layer.

    2. Adhere tinted baby photo to embossed vellum. Add coordinating border to frame photo, then layer the framed and matted photo to the patterned paper (figure B ).

    3. Next, select and cut one of the bears (figure C) from a second sheet of teddy bear patterned paper.

    4. Adhere bear to page at corner of photograph (figure D).

    5. Then, use mounting squares, tape or dots to adhere a small heart to bear (figure E).

    6. Finally, use small alphabet stickers to add baby's name at bottom of page (figure F), under photograph.
