Designer Joy Macdonell shares her ideas for using letter punches. - While some letters are completed during the first punch, other letters take two punches to complete. The small inner opening of the "d" in "Day Dreaming" (figure A) is punched first. Then, the larger punch is aligned over the smaller punch to create the outer edge of the D.
- Stickers can be used to enhance the letters and overall theme of a page (figure B).
- Re-positionable tape can hold aligned letters in place while they are positioned and affixed to the scrapbook page. Once the letters have adhered to the page, the tape can be easily removed.
- Gel pens or markers can be used to draw on letters for additional enhancement.
Sandi's Tip: Sticky punches? Try punching through wax paper a few times before continuing on the paper or cardstock of your choice. Die-cuts/templates provided by Ellison Craft & Design. For more information about Ellison, see Resources. Click here for DIY's Scrapbooking Glossary.
