Layering pages and embellishing with border stickers can jazz up a specific theme scrapbook and help carry the theme. Andrea Grossman, of Mrs. Grossman's Paper Company, shares a technique to create layered scrapbook pages using stickers.

    Materials:

A variety of border stickers, in complementary colors and contrasting designs
    Small scrapbook or album
    Small paper cutter
    Pencil
    Ruler

    1. When layering pages, no more than six pages should be included in a sequence. More will create bulk and interrupt the flow. Layering starts with the last page in the sequence.

    2. Grossman adds a border to the edge of the page and moves to the next page.

    3. In each step, the width of the sticker is measured as well as the width of the border sticker on the previous layer. To determine the amount to trim the new page, the two border widths are added together (figure A)

    4. A pencil line indicates where the page will be cut and is trimmed with a paper cutter (figure B) along the line. A new border sticker is added at the edge.

    5. Grossman repeats the process for the entire sequence of pages.

    6. Stickers are applied to the backs of pages to "mirror" the front designs.
