Beach glass and hemp embellishments can bring a natural, "beachy" feel to your page.

Sea glass is a clever way to add page titles.

When using adhesive to attach hemp to page, beware of page "sticking". There will be a minimal amount of sticking to the previous page in a scrapbook as the adhesive is exposed through open areas of the hemp. The solution? Add glitter or embossing powder to the adhesive that matches the hemp.
    Coastal Netting Pockets

Coastal netting is loosely woven fine hemp that's very versatile. It's available in a variety of colors and adds a natural, textural accent to your scrapbook pages. Idea: Use coastal netting pockets to display special greeting cards, postcards, brochures, maps, or other memorabilia.

    Materials:

coastal netting (or any type of net-like fiber)
    1/4" Scrappy Tape
    card stock
    scissors
    glitter or embossing powder (optional)

    1. Apply Scrappy Tape along bottom edge of cardstock, allowing protective cover to remain.

    2. Apply two strips of scrappy tape to the back of the cardstock to secure the ends of the coastal netting.

    3. Cut length of coastal netting and press to tape on front of cardstock to secure.

    4. Fold netting over cardstock and adhere ends to tape on back of cardstock.

    5. Sprinkle glitter or embossing powder over the bottom edge of coastal netting to cover any exposed adhesive, if desired.

    Sea Glass Mosaics

Sea glass, a.k.a. beach glass, is a popular new embellishment. Once you master adhering it to your page, you can use an engraver to carve title letters into the surface, or decorate with glue and glitters, sand or other embellishments.

    Materials:

    sea Glass
Scrappy Tape by Magic Scraps (1")
    card stock

    1. Cover one side of Sea Glass with Scrappy Tape and trim even with the edge of the sea glass. Tip: be sure the entire surface is covered with tape, or it will show through.

    2. Arrange into a mosaic pattern, or alternately use as a page title.
