Scrapbook tinsel -- used to create this cheerleader's pom-poms -- can also be used creatively to add sparkle and dimension.

Use adhesive crystal to add sparkling panache to your special scrapbook pages. Magazine editor Melissa Inman uses a crystal angel to highlight a layout featuring a sweet, slumbering baby.

    Materials:

8-1/2" x 11" navy blue and white cardstock
    Cutting system or craft knife
    Ruler
    Stylus
    Double-sided tape
    Blue mulberry paper
    Metallic paper (gold or silver)
    Vellum
    White photo corners
    Small adhesive foam dots
    1/8" round hand punch
    Navy marker
    Eyelets and mini-brads
Thin ribbon (to fit through eyelets)
    Crystal tattoos (Pure Allure)
    Angel charm

    1. Trim one sheet of navy cardstock, reducing by 1".

    2. Use ruler and stylus to score the trimmed cardstock 1/2" from the left edge.

    3. Apply double-sided tape to scored inside edge of the cardstock.

    4. Adhere trimmed, folded cardstock to second sheet of 8-1/2" x 11" navy cardstock to create a "flap".

    5. Open the flap. Use cutting system or craft knife to cut a square window in the top half.

    6. Cut the white cardstock to create two "frames" for the window. Cut in same shape, with slightly different sizes.

    7. Insert and set eyelets for the frame on the front side of the flap.

    8. Adhere white frame around the navy window on both inside and outside of the flap.

    9. Print title on vellum and attach to the front of flap with mini-brads.

    10. Apply angel tattoo to small square of navy cardstock. For best results, rub finger along back surface of the contact sheet. Peel away the clear acetate (which will pull crystals away from the backing) and press to cardstock (figure A).

    11. Rub finger over the clear acetate, then peel away from the crystals (figure B). Only the crystal design should remain on the cardstock.

    12. Double mat the angel charm on both white and metallic cardstock and adhere to front flap.

    13. Apply white photo corners to the photographs.

    14. Mount photos on torn mulberry paper, mount matted photo on white cardstock.

    15. Position a larger photo (about 5" x 7") so that it is centered in the "window" on the front surface. Adhere to inner surface of back page.

    16. Attach a second photo under the window opening on the left inside of flap.

    17. Add journaling and angel charm. Adhere the charm using small adhesive foam dots.

    18. Apply crystal tattoo borders down the right side of bottom page, leaving room in the center for eyelet and ribbon.

    19. Insert eyelets in center of both the front flap and bottom cardstock.

    20. Thread ribbon through eyelets and tie into bow.
