Try adding a shaker box to your Easter pages for festive color, movement and dimension. Here, expert cropper Rebecca Ludens creates a shaker box in the shape of a basket -- complete with Easter eggs and grass!

    Materials:

Sizzix basket die-cut and die-cut machine
cardstock (one sheet solid, one sheet patterned)
    craft foam
    clear acrylic page protector
filler material: stickers, punched confetti, beads, etc.
    scissors
    decorative scissors and embellishments
    liquid adhesive

    1. Cut three basket shapes -- one from each shade of cardstock; one from foam (figure A).

    2. Remove the inner portion from the solid basket and place on another piece of cardstock in the same shade. Use scissors to cut around the shape (figure B) about 1/4" larger. Note: The shape doesn't have to be exactly like the first, because its irregular shape will be hidden in the next step.

    3. Secure the new inner piece behind the solid colored "base" basket. Use liquid adhesive to completely adhere and seal the two pieces.

    4. To create a "well" for the shaker material, use liquid adhesive to adhere the foam basket directly on top of the base basket.

    5. Add a variety of shaker material inside the foam basket opening. Adhere two stickers back-to-back (as in Ludens' example), or add to paper or cardstock, then cut around the shape. Add bits of grass, beads, confetti or sequins as desired.

    6. After adding shaker material -- taking care not to extend above the foam basket surface -- cover the basket with a piece of clear acrylic to create a window (figure C).

    7. Top with patterned basket die-cut shape (figure D) and add shaker box to page.

    8. Continue assembling and decorating scrapbook page as desired.
