Rhinestones -- both colored and clear -- are used to simulate "diamonds" on the page.

The newest mirrored shapes are so lightweight that a tiny amount of adhesive can secure them to the page!

All three materials combine to create "The Prettiest of All" pages!

On a different layout, mirrors are used in a tongue-in-cheek manner in place of letters.

Want to add sparkle to your page, but are tired of being limited to metallic paper and pens? Try adding dazzle with sequins, mirrors and colored rhinestones -- which now come in sizes and weights appropriate for scrapbook use -- as demonstrated in this project by designer Julianna Hudgins.

    Materials:

    Oval mirrors
    Rhinestone shapes
    Rhinestone rounds
    Sequins by-the-yard
    Mini glue dots
    Colorful background paper
    Border stickers and coordinating embellishments
    Small sticker letters
    White paper or cardstock
    Clear-drying adhesive
Several coordinating cardstock and paper shades

    1. First, trim a piece of background paper for the title area of the layout. Accent the top with coordinating border stickers, then apply rhinestones as accents.

    2. Next, trace and cut letters to spell "Prettiest" and adhere to center of the page. Use small sticker letters to spell the words "the", "of" and "all."

    3. Mount photos to white paper, then on colored cardstock (Hudgins used purple). Adhere below the title section, then outline with sequins using mini glue dots or clear adhesive.

    4. Print journaling from the computer using a festive or fun font style (Hudgins chose Curlz MT) and mount on gold paper, then matching background paper. Adhere to page, then accent with gemstones or small mirror embellishments.

    5. Next, cut out designs from background paper and embellish as desired using mirrors, colored and clear rhinestones and sequins.
