Stickers are an easy way to punch up your school-themed pages. Here, designer Joanne Clark shares her technique for creating a School Years album page.

    Materials

    School-themed stickers, borders and corners
    12" x 12" white album page
    Red mat paper
    Blue mat paper
    Copied photos
    Photo-safe glue
    Scissors
    Pencil
    Ruler
Journaling pen or computer print-out of journaling

    1. First, surround entire page perimeter with sticker border, adhering 1/4" from the page (figure A). If necessary, measure and lightly pencil a guideline for easy placement. Remember to compensate for design elements that extend beyond the sticker's edge.

    2. Next, add a photo corner (figure B) to the corner of each sticker border (this technique is a great way to hide less than perfect corners -- especially for croppers who haven't yet mastered mitered corners).

    3. Enlarge or reduce photos on photocopier, then double-mat. Mat a larger photo on red mat paper, then blue. Add photo corners (figure C).

    4. Then, mat a smaller photo, reversing the mat colors. Add stickers as photo corners.

Joanne's Tip: Cut stickers and backing from the sticker sheet. Leave backing on while determining placement of sticker on the page.

    5. To add dimension layer transparent stickers (figure D).

    6. To finish page, add title and journaling.
