While wire can be bent into almost any shape, beads can add sparkling texture. Try combining the two materials for yet another creative lettering option. Here, Julianna Hudgins creates a page fit for royalty! Princess Page Materials: pink seed beads - size 10 clear bugle beads clear rhinestone shapes 26-gauge non-tarnish copper wire wire cutters round-nose pliers white cardstock dark pink cardstock medium pink cardstock color photo - First, mount photo on white cardstock, then on dark pink.
- Next, use computer to layout and print journaling. Mount journaling on medium pink cardstock.
- Mount matted photo and journaling square to center of background page.
- Then, create beaded lettering. Begin by threading pink beads on the 26-gauge wire. Continue until section is covered with beads, then use round nose pliers to create loops at end of each letter (figure A). Leave enough wire at one end of the wire to create a "tail".
- Bend sections of beaded wire to form each letter (figure B).
- Create "tiara" shape using same technique: thread beads onto wire, then bend into shape. Curl ends with round nose pliers.
- Create additional beaded embellishments as desired. Attach all shapes to page by poking ends of wire through the top surface of page (figure C). Turn page over and use pliers to bend the wire into a loop to secure.
