One of the easiest way to get men involved in scrapbooking is to focus on their special interests -- such as hunting or fishing. That's how designer Dan David became a cropper! Here, David creates a "hunting" page using a special tool he invented while assisting his wife with her pages. Materials: Neutral background paper Lighthouse Memories Ovals & More Cutter with shapes (ruffled square, octagon and ruffled oval) Corner Weaves Die-cut Trees Outdoor or sportsman-themed stickers Themed page topper Hunting or outdoor photos - First, place selected photo on mat, then place ruffled oval guide over photo (figure A). Insert ruffled oval cam into cutter.
- Next, place cutter directly over center of guide, starting with cutter handle at the 9 o'clock position. Press down firmly and remove guide.
- Then, turn handle a full turn to cut photo (figure B).
- Set size adjustment screws on cutter to 1/4" larger. Use same technique to cut a neutral-colored mat.
- Adhere photo to mat, then position and secure mat to scrapbook page.
- Replace cam in cutter and switch guide. Repeat steps 1-5 to create a few photos and mats of different shapes (figure C). Adhere to page as desired.
- Add stickers and additional embellishments -- such as these "gumwrapper" weaves on the corners (figure D) -- as desired.
