Achieve a softly blended background paper by blending shades of Radiant Pearls together.

Designer Lauren Johnston uses pearlescent paints to create a Christmas candy cane page that looks good enough to eat!

    Materials:

    Color photos
    Maraschino and Malachite Radiant Pearls
    2 stipple brushes
    Make-up wedges or stamping sponges
Sheet of plastic or old CD for palette
Several sheets of 12" x 12" ivory cardstock
    Candy cane rubber stamp
"Christmas" and "Joy" dies (2 of each)
    Acid-free glue
    Circle cutter and scissors
    Red glitter gel pen

    1. Use circle cutter to crop photos, then cut one ivory mat 1/4" larger than photo, and a second one 1/2" larger.

    2. Then, use a makeup wedge or stamping sponge to apply Maraschino paint to stamp. Stamp around edges of 12" x 12" page (figure A). Repeat paint application process before stamping. Allow stamped edges to dry thoroughly before proceeding.

    3. Next, use stipple brush (figure B) to cover entire surface of Christmas-themed dies ("Christmas" and "Joy") with Radiant Pearls paint. Cover one of each shape with Maraschino and one of each shape with Malachite. Allow to dry thoroughly.

    4. For mats, use stipple brush to cover 1/2" of outer edge of each ivory mat. Apply Maraschino to smaller mat, and Malachite to larger mat. Again, allow to dry thoroughly before moving to the next step.

    5. Adhere one cropped photo to red mat and one to green. Adhere matted photos to scrapbook page.

    6. Then, adhere red "Christmas" and "Joy" die-cuts to the corresponding green die-cut shapes and adhere to page.

    7. Use red glitter gel pen to add journaling to page as desired.
