On this example, soft, vintage-style paper is combined with a floral sticker and a vellum remnant. The outcome is an elegant journal card that would be a befitting accent to a heritage page or album.

Because journaling squares tend to be small, they're a great way to combine small scraps of colored or patterned paper with stickers. Watch this video to see Andrea Grossman create a beautiful journaling square for a baby album.

Andrea Grossman files her scraps by color and pattern. Grossman combines her scraps with stickers to create journaling squares of the perfect size.

    Materials:

    Stickers
Paper scraps (different colors, textures, patterns)
    Adhesive

    1. First, trim scrap paper to create a journaling square that will work with your scrapbook layout.

    2. Then, begin adhering sticker borders to edge of journaling square (figure A). Continue around entire panel until all edges are complete.

    3. When complete, place sticker at top center (figure B). Allow sticker to extend past the edge. Adhere journaling square to page.

Mrs. Grossman's Tip: Consider creating a long, narrow journaling card to utilize larger scraps of paper.
