This looks like an expensive, customized party favor. But it was created by using leftover stickers and paper.

Sticker and paper remnants are adhered together to create a festive cake topper. Rahmatulla simple places a toothpick at the center and pushes the toppers into the cake surface.

Birthday party coming up? Lots of leftover scrapbooking paper lying about? You know what to do! Follow designer Stephanie Rahmatulla's lead and uses your scraps to create fun invitations and party favors!

    Materials:

    Plain birthday invitation panel card
    Scrap paper or cardstock
    Envelope
    Sticker remnants (borders, characters, etc.)
    Tape or glue
    Candy bar favors
    Letter stickers

    1. First, check the largest part of the invitation (this would be the backing added to the panel card, or if a backer isn't used, the panel card itself) to make sure that the card will fit your chosen envelopes.

    2. Then, use a fun computer font to print the birthday invitation onto the plain panel card. Leave room at bottom for larger stickers or embellishments. Mount to backing, if desired.

    3. Use leftover stickers to add borders along the invitation edge.

    4. To the large space left at the bottom of the invitation, add a fun sticker to embellish (figure A).

    5. To create favors, trim paper to fit a flat, wrapped candy bar (figure B). Leave a little of the wrapper extending beyond the paper to add color to the overall presentation.

    6. Embellish the scrap paper wrapper by adding sticker borders. With paper lying flat on work surface, begin applying stickers along the sides of the paper. Tip: For best results, hold stickers tightly at one end, while pulling and pressing with the other hand. Press excess sticker under edges of custom wrap.

    7. Use letter stickers to add guest's name to center of new wrapper (figure C ). Wrap custom labels around the candy and adhere edges with glue or tape.
