Creativity is popping up everywhere! Die-cuts aren't limited only to scrapbooks. They can also be added to jazz up centerpieces for almost any occasion. Watch this video to learn more.

DIY Scrapbooking host Sandi Genovese uses colorful paper scraps to create a festive centerpiece. Photos and die-cuts are combined and then added to sticks. These party picks can be used to embellish food --even a plant -- to bring the fun of scrapbooking to the table!

    Materials:

    Color photos
    Die-cuts of choice
Scrap paper in blue patterned, red and gold solids
    Scissors
Xyron adhesive backing and sticker machine or glue
    Sizzix die-cut machine
    Silver gel pen
    Toothpicks or bamboo skewers

    1. First, layer solid red and blue patterned paper. Place selected die-cut over the paper and slide into the die-cut machine (figure A). Press handle and make cut.

    2. Then, remove the die-cut word and use scissors to cut blue letters apart (figure B).

    3. If using an adhesive backing, remove backing from blue "S". If not, run letters through Xyron sticker maker.

    4. Place blue patterned "S" over the corresponding "s" on the red word (figure C).

    5. Next, adhere gold paper behind "star" opening (figure D) on the red "A" .

    6. Use silver pen to add sparkling embellishments to paper as desired.

    7. Using another sheet of paper, flip so that back surface is face up. Use die-cut to make a mirror image design to create "USA" backing.

    8. Peel backing off first "USA" die-cut shapes. Center the toothpick or skewer between the two images, and adhere images back-to-back. Slowly join the two by removing backing from the second die-cut as you press to the first.

    9. The same technique can be used with photos. Simply photocopy and create a mirror image of the photo (figure E). Trim around images, insert toothpick and adhere photos back-to-back (figure F).
