Oh, what a great page you'll weave! Watch this video to learn how easily the woven quilt page can be accomplished.

Anna Griffin creates a page with softness of color and pattern reminiscent of a baby's blanket. This project is a great way to highlight a favorite candid photo or portrait of baby.

    Materials:

A variety of patterned paper in (similar) soft shades
    1 sheet of solid coordinating paper, 11" x 11-1/4"
    Foam tape
    Re-positionable tape
    Craft knife
    Mat with grid
    Archival glue
    Satin ribbon corners
    Satin bow with tail
    5" x 4" or 6" x 5" photograph

    1. Begin by cutting patterned paper into 1" x 11" strips.

    2. Then, using gridded mat to guide placement (figure A), begin weaving strips. Create a corner with one horizontal strip and a vertical strip of a different pattern. Use archival glue to adhere vertical strip over the horizontal strip. Secure the corner to mat with small piece of tape.

    3. Next, adhere next vertical strip under the horizontal strip (figure B). Begin alternating strips and weave over and under until page is completely woven.

    4. When page is completely woven, add satin ribbon corners (figure C) to embellish and protect quilted page corners.

    5. Mount page to solid 11" x 11-1/4" paper.

    6. Crop baby photo to fit die-cut frame.

    7. Cut slot in top of frame and feed tail of satin bow through. The tail should extend below the back surface of the frame, with the bow embellishing top of framed photo.

    8. Adhere frame to page (figure D).

    9. Use foam tape to add journaling and a special quote done on coordinating paper (figure E).
