Organization is the key to making progress on your pages during a crop. The cropper sitting next to you probably knows a few secrets that allow her to work faster. Here, Curtis Platte shares a few tips and products that can help croppers get organized and work efficiently. - Organizing Supplies - A lack of supply organization makes it almost impossible to crop efficiently. Cropping totes with lots of pockets, binders, photo organizers and paper keepers are great ways to keep supplies protected during transport, yet at your fingertips during a crop.
- Preparation - Pare down your supplies to things you really need during the crop. You don't have to take every supply you own -- tools can be borrowed from other croppers as necessary. Instead of taking 4 types of adhesive, take only 2. Preselect the papers you'll be using for a particular page. Organize stickers and die-cuts before you leave for the crop. Finally, select and sort photos.
- Keeping It Together - Platte says special binders with sealable, clear pockets help keep all page items in place. It's a great way to house selected page elements (stickers, die-cuts, photos, scrapbook pages) until they can be assembled. Every aspect of the album is completed (cropping, selection, etc.) before the crop, placed in a work album, sealed and carried to the crop for completion.
