What's pink and green and highlights a baby portrait perfectly? A quilted page as featured by guest Carol Scheffler!
Guest Carol Scheffler creates the quilted look on her page with a faux quilting technique. This great technique is accomplished by layering border stickers and cutting into common quilting patterns. Carol creates the starburst pattern to frame her photo and a pin wheel pattern as additional embellishment.

    Materials:

    Border stickers
    Pink card stock
12" x 12" green dotted, yellow and pink checked papers
    Scissors
    Ruler
    Fine-point pen

    1. Trim a piece of green polka dot 12" x 12" paper down to 11" x 11".

    2. Adhere this trimmed green paper onto a piece of 12" x 12" pink checked paper.

    3. Cut one 5" x 5" pink card stock square and four 2-1/2" pink card stock squares.

    4. Adhere the large square to the center of the page and the smaller squares so they abut the corners of the large square (figure A).

    5. Cut four 5" x 1-1/4" long rectangles of yellow checked paper and adhere them around the large pink square, leaving a 1/4-inch border of green peeking through (figure B).

    6. Tuck the ends of these rectangles under the smaller pink squares.

    7. Apply word stickers to the center of each yellow checked rectangles (figure C).

    8. Lay thin, patterned border stickers side-by-side onto a piece of white paper. Lay enough of them so that this border "fabric" you are creating measures 1-1/4 inch wide approximately (figure D). Trim off a little if it is too wide.

    9. Cut 24 triangles from the border "fabric" that measure 1-1/4 inch on each side with the hypotenuse measuring 1-3/4" (figure E).

    10. Arrange eight of the triangles in the center of the large pink square in a starburst arrangement. Adhere them to the page.

    11. Adhere four triangles in a pinwheel arrangement in each of the smaller pink squares. (figure F).

    12. Adhere a small paper flower in the center of each square where the points of the pinwheel meet (figure G).

    13. Adhere border stickers along the edges of the green scrapbook paper.

    14. Adhere a 2-1/2" x 2-1/2" photograph into the center of the large pink square.
