    1. Using the template in the PDF Template file at the right, cut a hexagon from ivory solid paper.

    2. Draw lines on the back of the hexagon connecting the points (figure A).

    3. Fold on each of the lines.

    4. Fold the hexagon in half, not on the lines.

    5. Punch half of the design on the fold to create the center cut (figure B).

    6. Open the hexagon. With the punch upside down, position the image between the lines and punch (figure C).

    7. Repeat six times, all around the hexagon.

Tip: Place the punch in different locations for different designs. See below for more snowflake and other designs achieved using this technique, including cardmaking and gift tag projects.

    8. Mount the snowflakes on blue patterned paper and trim (figure D).

    9. Cut four stripes from the blue floral stripe paper.

    10. Adhere each stripe to blue pattern paper and trim along each edge with scallop scissors.

    11. Use the scalloped piece to make a border on the blue striped sheet (figure E).

    12. Add matted photos and journaling (figure F).

    13. Decorate the page with your punched snowflakes.

Note: Trim the edges or corners with a small section of the punch to alter the shape of the snowflake, if desired. See below for a variety of snowflakes created using this technique, as well as other ways to used the punched paper designs on gift tags, cards and more.
