A ribbon stitched around the page border makes an adorable accent.
Eyelets are used at the corners of this page to anchor the fiber. The fiber's fiery color and texture picks up the mood and spectacular hues of the photograph's sunset.
Need a new way to tie your page elements together? Fibers are an exciting new addition to scrapbooking mediums. Stephanie Rahmatulla shares her techniques for adding fibers, threads and ribbons.
Gluing - Simply place a line of glue where you want to place the fiber. Add the fiber and follow the glue line for placement.
Sewing - A great way to include ribbon is to sew it directly to the page surface. In this example, Rahmatulla traces a border around the page, then punches small holes along the border. Next, Rahmatulla laces ribbon through a large needle and uses a straight stitch to "sew" through the holes.
Eyelets - Add eyelets to hold your fibers in place. First, punch a hold in the paper for placement of the eyelet. Place the eyelet in the hole, hold in place, then turn paper over. Set the eyelet with a setting tool and hammer. Wrap the fiber under the eyelet to hold securely.
