Love the movement that charms add to a page, but can't find the exact motif you need? Look no further! Michele Gerbrandt has a technique that creates charms with unique appeal.

    Materials:

    Shrink-plastic sheet
    Rubber stamps
    Dye ink pad
    Heat gun
    Stylus
    Straight-edge scissors
    1/8" hole punch
    1/16" hole punch
    Deckle-edge scissors
    Jump rings
    Pliers
    8-1/2" x 11" red cardstock
    8-1/2" x 11" blue cardstock
    8-1/2" x 11" white cardstock
    8-1/2" x 11" yellow cardstock
    Acid-free adhesive
    Foam dots

    Creating the Charms

    1. Stamp image onto shrink plastic (figure A), then cut with straight-edge scissors. Punch a hole in top of image using 1/8" punch.

    2. Hold the stamped, punched image flat and use the heat gun to heat and shrink the plastic (figure B) to charm size. (Note: Image will curl up, then flatten again.) Set aside to cool.

    3. Once plastic has cooled, thread jump ring into the hole on charm.

    Creating the Page

    1. To make the page, start with the red cardstock as your background paper. Next, trim the blue cardstock to 8-1/2" x 10-3/4", then layer over the red cardstock.

    2. Cut a leftover strip of the blue to 1-3/4" x 8-1/2" and trim one long edge with deckle-edge scissors.

    3. Cut the yellow cardstock to 1-1/2" x 8-1/2" and deckle cut one long edge. Adhere the yellow strip to the blue strip.

    4. Use 1/6" punch to make holes along the deckle edge of the blue strip. Push the jump ring -- with the charm -- through the hole and close the jump ring (figure C) with pliers. Once the charm strip is completed, adhere to background page.

    5. Use remaining cardstock to mat photographs, then adhere to page.

    6. Accent page with stamped images randomly arranged.

    7. For additional embellishment, stamp and cut images and adhere to page with foam dots.
