Chris Chianelli looks at the variety of park flyers available, and takes some of them for a spin. Check back soon for a downloadable video of some of the flyer footage featured in the program.
- RC Flyer's Tip: No special memberships, licenses or permits are required to fly park flyers. They can be flown almost anywhere. Just make certain that you're not flying within 2 miles of an official RC flying field, as the radio frequencies might interfere with one another.
- The Tiger Moth (figure A) from Horizon Hobbies (TM) is a replica of a biplane from circa 1930.
- The red and white Reno (figure B) is a racing model.
- The Flying Wing (figure C) is an oddly shaped combat plane that is surprisingly agile as well as durable.
- The Pro Jetty (figure D) is capable of speeds up to 100 mph, and requires a larger flying area.
- The S1 Pitts Special (figure E) is modeled after a famous aerobatic plane.
Park flyers are among the easiest RC planes to build and fly. These are only some of the park flyers that are available. Check your hobby center or search online for others.
