  • Craft Quick-Tip: Paintbrush Care
  • From "Ask DIY"
    episode ADI-412
    advertisement

Taking care of the tools you use for crafting will result in your tools lasting longer and your projects looking better in the end. Here are some tips for caring for your paintbrushes.

    • Wash out your paintbrushes with soap and water as soon as you're finished using them.

    • Toothbrush stands are idea for storing smaller brushes, bristle-end-up.

    • Toothbrush holders -- like those used for storing your toothbrush while traveling -- are good for storing paintbrushes as well.

    • To protect the bristles on a small brush, insert it, handle end first, into a drinking straw so that the bristles are protected.
