Air and ink combine to form detailed, realistic renderings.

Clayton Reed says he first became intrigued by airbrushing through a chance visit to an airbrush store. Reed, a professional firefighter, says airbrushing helps alleviate the stress and trauma he encounters on a daily basis. According to Reed, perfecting airbrushing techniques takes commitment and practice. He recommends "drills" -- practice runs in which the artist develops control of both the strokes and the equipment. As with any art, there are techniques involving gradation and shading that must be perfected to create realistic three-dimensional effects. Reed says anything -- clothing, cars, furniture or appliances -- can be airbrushed.
