Mary Lyon, host of DIY Crafts, explains how freezer paper ironed on fabric can provide stability while you paint. Freezer paper can be used on fabric to mask areas from paint and to provide stability while you paint. Iron a piece of freezer paper to the back of a piece of fabric to keep it stable. Cut a design from another piece of freezer paper, and iron it to the front of the fabric. Paint the fabric, using a sponge brush, painting over the edges of the freezer-wrap paper design (figure A). When the paint is dry, peel off the freezer-wrap design. The design will be outlined with paint, leaving the original fabric color inside the design (figure B).
