It was a suburb just outside of Chicago where Steve and his imagination grew up designing forts out of scrap wood and building time machines from coffee cans. Steve worked in the film business for more than 10 years, working in props and designing sets for movies and television. He and his friend and creative partner Cathie Filian met on a film set and in 2001 opened a store across the street from Paramount Studios. Seven Ten was an eclectic boutique and art gallery that showcased new artists and crafters as well as Cathie's and Steve's own personal handmade items. They taught crafts to hip Hollywood types, who would come by and hang out with the craft and design experts making unique projects in the backroom of their colorful, lively store. Steve's keen eye and can-do attitude caught the attention of many celebrities Valerie Bertinelli, Eddie Van Halen, Faye Dunaway, Loretta Swit, Haskell Wexler and Lance Bass each of whom asked Steve to paint his or her lavish home. Steve's creativity is his hobby and passion. His tireless creative energy and curious mind explores arts like tile-making, sculpture and woodworking. Steve gets everyone's creative juices flowing as co-host on Creative Juice.Want more great tips and ideas from Steve Piacenza?
