    Tapped as "Hollywood's knitting guru", Edith Eig, owner of La Knitterie Parisienne, has established her business into one of the world's most successful and recognizable knitting yarn stores of its kind.

    Born in Paris, France, Edith began knitting at the age of five. She came to the United States at the age of 19, and shortly after married and settled in Parsippany, N.J. After she abandoned a career on Wall Street to raise a family, Edith and her husband opened The Canvas Pad, a successful needlepoint and knitting yarn business. In 1996 they relocated to California, moving the store with them to Studio City and renaming it La Knitterie Parisienne.

    Edith and La Knitterie Parisienne have made headlines, appearing in local, national, international and online media outlets, including People; Time; "Entertainment Tonight"; "Access Hollywood"; CNN; Los Angeles Times magazine; McCall's; Entertainment Weekly; Arts & Crafts magazine; InStyle magazine; Victoria magazine; USA Today; USA Weekend magazine; Fuji TV (Japan); The London Times; U.K. Express; BBC Holiday; UCLA Daily Bruin; and many others.

    Edith received her degree from the University of Paris at the Sorbonne in France. She and her husband reside in Encino, California. They have three children who also live in California.
