If you don't have access to a water heater, you can install an in-line water heater (figure A) to heat the water for an individual sink. Some models require their own circuit. Others can be plugged into a wall outlet. The heating elements on in-line heaters are fragile and require a constant supply of water. For this reason such a heater should be installed only below the sink to avoid any siphoning effects. When installing an in-line heater, place it 8" above the floor or vanity so that you can access the heating elements if necessary. If you're using an outlet under your sink, make sure it's a GFCI outlet.
